Ciptaharja Village Launches Creativity Center to Boost Local Creative Economy
West Bandung – Ciptaharja Village, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency, now boasts a new facility aimed at driving local economic growth. The Village Creativity Center, managed by BUMDesma Bangkit Mandiri Sejahtera, was officially inaugurated as a collaborative and innovative space for the community.
The center blends traditional Sundanese culture with modern elements, including digital technology. A highlight is a podcast studio, which allows village youth to produce creative content ranging from local wisdom stories, promotion of village products, to educational materials for the wider community.
Dudi Supriadi, Head of the West Bandung Regency Department of Community and Village Empowerment (DPMD), officiated the launch and emphasized the importance of villages adapting to the digital era without losing their cultural identity.
“Villages must be self-reliant and competitive. The Creativity Center is designed to nurture fresh ideas from the younger generation that can be directly applied to enhance the economic value of local products,” he said.
With Cipatat’s abundant natural resources—such as its signature durians, corn, handicrafts, and traditional cuisine—the center is also intended to support digital-based collective marketing through online platforms. This aligns with West Bandung Regency’s plan to develop Cipatat, including Gua Pawon, as a hub for village tourism and economic development.
Through this approach, the village’s flagship products are expected to reach wider markets, not only in West Java but nationally.
The center exemplifies the role of BUMDesma (Joint Village-Owned Enterprises) in fostering inter-village collaboration within Cipatat. The initiative is hoped to inspire other villages in West Bandung Regency to establish creative spaces, making the rural economy more resilient and inclusive in the digital and post-pandemic era.
With this facility, Ciptaharja Village not only preserves its cultural identity but also opens new opportunities for the younger generation to directly contribute to improving community welfare.
