Cicendo Receives Rp25 Million CSR for Child Stunting Prevention Program
Bandung – A stunting prevention program for toddlers was held at RW 03 Office, Husein Sastranegara Subdistrict, Jalan Abdul Rahman Saleh No. 34. The program is a collaborative effort between local government authorities and the business sector to reduce stunting rates in Cicendo District.
The Gasing (Family Ready to Prevent Stunting) program was developed as a local innovation to strengthen family roles in early stunting prevention. A total of Rp25 million from CSR contributions by PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia was allocated to support the initiative. The funds target 27 toddlers at risk of stunting across six subdistricts, with seven beneficiaries located in Husein Sastranegara Subdistrict.
Beneficiary children receive supplementary meals (PMT) for 56 consecutive days, consisting of a complete nutritious menu and close supervision by healthcare personnel. The program is supported by the Bandung City Health Office, Pasir Kaliki Health Center, and Sukaraja Health Center.
In addition, civil servants at the district and subdistrict levels provide supplementary meals and nutrition counseling to 18 other toddlers as part of family nutrition education. Recent data validation shows a significant downward trend in stunting in Cicendo District, with around 10 percent of targeted children showing improvements in height and nutritional status. The total number of stunting cases among the 113 targeted children is projected to decrease to approximately 93 this year.
Stunting prevention efforts in Cicendo operate in a cyclical ecosystem through complementary programs such as Dapur Dahsyat, Buruan Sae, and Kang Pisman, involving multiple government agencies and active community participation.
Stunting remains a serious challenge in Bandung, with the 2024 survey indicating an increase in stunting rates from 16.3 percent to 22.8 percent. The survey reflects the actual conditions of children in the field, ensuring that all children residing in Bandung continue to receive services regardless of administrative documentation.
The CSR support from Angkasa Pura Indonesia is considered strategic, helping to fill operational budget gaps during fiscal transition periods. The number of beneficiaries is expected to expand to include all children at risk in Cicendo District. CSR programs are managed by the Business Support team of PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia, focusing on addressing needs at the subdistrict and district levels to reduce stunting rates in the airport’s ring-one area.
Despite challenges such as decreased passenger numbers post-pandemic, the company remains committed to implementing sustainable social programs.
