Vice President Gibran Rakabuming Visits Flood Victims in Karawang, Military and Police Ensure Maximum Security
Karawang, January 19, 2025 – The Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia, Gibran Rakabuming Raka, personally visited evacuation sites and distributed aid to residents affected by flooding in Tanjungpura Village, West Karawang Subdistrict, Karawang Regency, on Monday (Jan 19).
The visit was tightly secured by the Karawang Resort Police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and related agencies. Karawang Police Chief AKBP Fiki Novian Ardiansyah and Karawang Military Commander Colonel Inf. Hista Soleh Harahap directly led the security operations, assisted by joint TNI–Police personnel and local government officials.
West Java Police Public Relations Head Kombes Pol. Hendra Rochmawan explained that security was implemented comprehensively along the arrival routes, activity sites, and evacuation areas to ensure the Vice President’s visit ran safely, orderly, and provided comfort for the affected residents. Cross-sector coordination was continuously carried out to anticipate any potential security disruptions.
During the visit, Vice President Gibran also delivered humanitarian aid as a gesture of government concern for the disaster-affected communities. Karawang Police Chief emphasized the commitment of the Police and all security personnel to provide maximum protection during state activities, especially those directly involving communities in need.
“The synergy between the TNI, Police, local government, and related agencies is the key to ensuring security, smooth operations, and the presence of the state among citizens who need it,” said AKBP Fiki Novian Ardiansyah.
