West Java Records Indonesia’s Highest Investment Realization, Reaching Rp296.8 Trillion in 2025
West Java Province has once again reaffirmed its position as Indonesia’s leading and most competitive investment destination throughout 2025. Based on data from the Ministry of Investment/Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM), investment realization in West Java reached Rp296.8 trillion, equivalent to 109.9 percent of the target, marking the highest achievement nationwide.
In second place, Jakarta recorded investment realization of Rp270.9 trillion. East Java ranked third with Rp145 trillion, followed by Banten at Rp139.2 trillion, while Central Sulawesi placed fifth with Rp127 trillion.
The West Java Provincial Government expressed its appreciation for the contributions of various stakeholders in maintaining a conducive, inclusive, and sustainable investment climate. The strong performance is seen as a reflection of sustained confidence among both domestic and foreign investors in the stability and investment certainty offered by West Java.
On a year-on-year basis, West Java’s investment realization in 2025 increased significantly by 18.21 percent compared to 2024, when it stood at Rp251.14 trillion. This growth reflects rising economic activity and growing investment interest across various strategic sectors in the province.
Of the total realized investment, foreign direct investment (FDI) amounted to Rp147.02 trillion, while domestic investment reached Rp149.8 trillion. This composition indicates a relatively balanced contribution between domestic and foreign investors in driving regional economic growth.
The balance between FDI and domestic investment is regarded as an important indicator that West Java’s economic development is not solely dependent on foreign capital, but is also strongly supported by national business players. Incoming investment is expected not only to deliver impressive figures, but also to generate tangible impacts, including job creation, strengthening of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and more equitable development across regions.
The West Java Provincial Government has also reaffirmed its commitment to continued bureaucratic reform, simplification of licensing processes, and strengthening of investment-supporting infrastructure, including the development of industrial estates and improved inter-regional connectivity.
The achievement of investment realization exceeding the target is viewed as a positive signal for West Java’s economy amid challenging global dynamics. With this performance, West Java is expected to remain a primary national investment destination while making a significant contribution to Indonesia’s economic growth, all while upholding principles of sustainability, environmental preservation, and local wisdom.
